Use the Report Customization feature to determine the amount of information you want to include on a report. Customizing allows you to choose specific pieces or ranges of data that can be included on a single report. For example, if you want to print a Sales [Customer Detail} Report for customer Eileen Martin for the months of May through July, you can use customizing to select those criteria only.
You can use the Customization window for reports you print on your printer, as well as reports you display.
Click the Customize button to open the Report Customization window. The window varies, depending upon the report you're customizing.
Note: Cash basis versus accrual basis
In MYOB AccountEdge, you can produce Balance Sheet and Profit & Loss reports based on both the accrual basis and cash basis accounting methods.
The cash basis method of accounting records the sale or purchase of goods and services at the time they're paid for, not when they're delivered.
The accrual basis method records the sale or purchase of goods and services at the time they're delivered, regardless of when payment has been made.
If your business expenses rarely carry over to the next accounting period or if you routinely receive payment for your services at the time of the service, cash basis accounting may be the best method for your business. However, accrual basis accounting may offer a clearer picture of your business's finances beyond the current accounting period.
Ask your accountant if you're unsure of the accounting method used for your business or to find out which method is best for your company.
Wildcards are special characters that give you more flexibility in selecting various records, such as account numbers and invoice numbers, to print on reports that use that type of information.
You can use two wildcard characters, the asterisk (*) and the question mark (?), in the Report Customization window.
