MYOB AccountEdge Version 3's expanded inventory management features allow you to track both cash and non-cash transactions that affect your inventory movement. Using the new Items Register window (available through the Inventory Command Center), you can track inventory as items are bought, sold, adjusted and transferred. New features in the Adjust Inventory and Inventory Transfer windows allow you to calculate an individual item's quantity and value as of a particular date and display the transactions that make up the balances. The Items Register also allows you to display transactions for all inventoried items or for a single inventoried item for a specific period of time.
All transactions that you enter in the Sales, Purchases, Transfer Inventory and Adjust Inventory windows now appear in your Items Register. Once they have been recorded, you can view your inventory transactions in the Transaction Journal and Find Transactions windows. A new Item tab on the Find Transactions window now displays all cash transactions for a particular item, and new selection and "zoom" features allow you to view detailed information about these transactions in the window where they were originally entered. More new selection and viewing features in the Item Information window and Transaction Journal also allow you to find detailed information about your inventory transactions.
In addition, the Items Register provides running balances per item based on the quantity on hand and the value of an item that you specify. You can also generate an Item History report using a tab in the Items Register.
A new Register button on the Adjust Inventory window permits you to adjust the quantity, unit cost or total value of any inventoried item in the Items Register without going to the trouble of creating an adjustment transaction. In the event of inventory inconsistencies (like those that can occur as the result of a loss or theft), you can now use the new Register button to reload and edit inventory transactions through the Adjust Inventory window or the Transfer Inventory window. This allows you to edit inventory transaction information directly.
An expanded set of inventory reports makes it easier than ever for you to maintain control over your inventory records. New inventory reports available in AccountEdge Version 3 include:
In addition, a number of existing reports have been enhanced to incorporate inventory tracking data.
