To optimize a company file (File menu)

Please note that this task requires single-user access. (Single-user file locking)

The company file you'd like to optimize should be open.

1. From the File menu at the top of your computer screen, choose Optimize Company File. A message will appear, describing the optimization process. Click OK in the message to begin the process of optimizing your company file.

Note:  Your existing company file will be renamed during optimization

2. When the optimization process is complete, a message will appear, indicating that your company file has been optimized. Click the OK button to end the optimization process.
