Entering payment methods for use with an MYOB Merchant Account
If you're an MYOB Merchant Account subscriber, take care when entering new or edited payment method information:
Payment Method: Only four payment methods are acceptable for use with the MYOB Merchant Account Services. In order for the Merchant Account Services to identify each payment method, you must enter a certain string of letters in the Payment Method field. You may enter additional information, if you wish. For example, you might enter Customer Visa Card or Visa Credit Card to identify a Visa payment method.:
American Express -- The string AMER or AMEX must be included in the entry you make in the Payment Method field.
Master Card -- The string MAST must be included in the entry you make in the Payment Method field.
Visa -- The string VISA must be included in the entry you make in the Payment Method field.
Discover -- The string DISC must be included in the entry you make in the Payment Method field.
Method Type: Both Credit Card and Debit Card are acceptable entries for this field, but both entries will be treated as credit cards. (True debit card payments can't be processed by the MYOB Merchant Account Service)
