User ID

In MYOB AccountEdge, user IDs keep track of the actions of each person, or user, who performs tasks that affect your company file. Whenever a user adds or changes transactions in a company file, that person's user ID will be attached to the information that was added or changed. This allows you to quickly see who's been changing your company's file.

Enter the user ID by which you want to be identified in this company file.

Password

If required, enter a valid password in this field to open the company file. (A password is optional for use with user IDs.)

File Access

Select between single-user and multi-user file access:

• Multi-user Access: Be sure this option is selected if you want other users to be able to use the company file while you're using it.

• Single-user Access: Choose this option if you wish to activate single-user file locking for the company file. You might want to choose this option if you plan on performing an MYOB AccountEdge task that requires that you're the only person using the company file while the task is being performed.

Selected Protocol

Choose the network protocol you wish to use while working with this MYOB AccountEdge company file. (Everyone who is using this company file at the same time must select the same protocol.) The protocols that appear in this list are those that are compatible with MYOB AccountEdge; they may or may not be installed on your workstation.

If you're unsure about which protocols are installed on your workstation, consult your system administrator.

This field appears only if you choose the Multi-user Access selection.

Change Password

Click this button to open the Change Password window, where you can change the existing password for this user ID or enter a password, if none exists already.

Cancel button

Click this button to choose a different company file to open.

OK button

After you've entered your user ID and, if necessary, your password, click this button to open the company file.
