In order to authorize a payment, the payment must be recorded

It is important to understand that before you authorize a payment, you must record the payment in your MYOB company file.

A payment can be recorded and authorized in a few ways:

• You can record the payment and authorize it at a later time. That is, you can record the payment using one of five windows. • You can click the Authorize button in the Applied Payment Details (sales) window when you're recording a payment. When you click the Authorize button, the payment is recorded immediately. (To handle customer credit card payments)
