Edit Recurring Schedule window




Recurring Transaction Name

Enter a name for this recurring transaction. You should make the name as descriptive as possible, so you can quickly find the transaction in a list of transactions.

Schedule section

Frequency

Select a frequency from the list to determine how often you should be reminded to record this recurring transaction.

When you specify a frequency, the recurring transaction will be recorded in your To Do List as a reminder. (If you select Never from this list, you won't receiver an alert message but the transaction will be included as a reminder in your To Do List.)

Your Cash Flow Worksheet will also be adjusted to reflect the future dates in which Spend Money, Receive Money and Transfer Money recurring transactions and employee payments will occur.

Starting on / Next Due

This field is named Starting on if you are creating a new recurring transaction. Enter the date you want the schedule to begin. That date will then be used as the basis for all future scheduling of the transaction, based on the selection you made in the Frequency field. For example, if you enter 8/10 and selected Monthly as the frequency, the transaction is scheduled for the 10th of every following month.

This field is named Next Due if you are viewing an existing recurring transaction. It displays the next scheduled date. You can change it if you wish and the new date will be used as the basis for all future scheduling of the transaction.

Select the space bar if you'd like to enter a date using AccountEdge's Calendar (day selection) window.

Repeated on

This field appears only if you selected Twice a Month in the Frequency field. Enter the second date in the month you want to schedule this transaction.

Select the space bar if you'd like to enter a date using AccountEdge's Calendar (day selection) window.

Continue indefinitely

Mark this option if you want the transaction to recur indefinitely, based on the schedule you set in the Frequency and Starting on fields.

Continue until this date

Mark this option if you want the transaction to recur until the date you enter in the text box, based on the schedule you set in the Frequency and Starting on fields.

Select the space bar if you'd like to enter a date using AccountEdge's Calendar (day selection) window.

Perform this # of times

Mark this option if you want the transaction to recur a specific number of times, based on the schedule you set in the Frequency and Starting on fields. Enter the number of times in the text box. You can change the number for an existing recurring transaction.

Remaining

This field appears only if you are viewing an existing recurring transaction. It displays the number of times this transaction will recur, based on the number you entered in the Perform this # of times field and the number of times the transaction has been recorded since you entered that number. You can change the number in the Perform this # of times field and the number in the Remaining field will reflect that change.

Alerts section

You must select one of the two options in this section.

If you do not want any alerts, allow the default settings to remain: the Remind ___ to record this transaction ___ option is marked and the second drop-down list is set to Never.

Remind ___ to record this transaction___

If you would like users of this company file to be reminded in advance of the date this transaction is to be recorded, mark this option.



The user that you select will receive the reminders in the Reminders window, which is launched when the company file is opened if any reminders for current or upcoming recurring transactions are scheduled for the current date.

Automatically record this transaction when due and notify ___

If you want the transaction to be automatically recorded and would like a user of this company file to be notified when it is recorded, mark this option.

From the User ID drop-down list, select the user you want to receive the notification.

The user that you select will receive their notifications in the Notification window, which is launched when the company file is opened if any recurring transactions scheduled for automatic recording were posted since the last time the company file was opened.

Transaction section

Use the next sequential number as the __#

Select this option if you want to use the next sequential number as the transaction (General Journal / Check / Sales / Purchase / Transfer / ID) number.

Use the following as the __ #

Select this option if you want to use a particular number to identify the transaction and enter that number in the text box. This ID will be used every time the transaction is recorded, with no automatic incrementing and no warning for duplicate IDs.

Save my changes when I record this recurring transaction

In the future, when you select this saved recurring transaction in order to record it, you may want to change one or many details in the transaction.



Whether you mark this option or not, you can always make changes to the recurring transaction's details without recording a transaction using the Edit Recurring Transaction Details window version of the transaction window. (There is an Edit Recurring Transaction Details window to coincide with each of the windows in which you can save a transaction as a recurring transaction.)

Click this button to save this recurring transaction.

Cancel button

Click this button to remove all the entries you've made and close the window.
