Credit Limit and Hold window




Credit Limit

Enter the credit limit you've set for this customer.

Available Credit

This customer's available credit is displayed, based on the customer's credit limit and accounts receivable balance.

Currently Past Due

If the customer has an amount on account that is past due, that amount is displayed. This amount is calculated using the credit terms selected for each sale made to the customer.

Place this customer on Credit Hold

If you select the preference If Credit Limit is Exceeded on Invoice, Warn and Continue or Prevent Unless Overridden in the Sales view of the Preferences window, you will receive an alert message when you enter an invoice if the customer's credit limit has been or will be exceeded. You can also receive an alert message informing you that a customer has been placed on credit hold.

Mark this field if you want the credit hold alert message to appear when you enter an invoice for this customer regardless of the credit limit status. You might place a customer on credit hold if the currently past due amount reaches a certain amount, even though the amount does not exceed the credit limit.

The credit hold alert message directs you to this window. You can remove the mark in this field to take the customer off credit hold, if you wish, and enter a new sale.
