To assign an ID number to a transaction
- When you create a transaction, the transaction number field will display Auto # when that field is highlighted. This text indicates that the transaction will be automatically given a number when it's recorded in the company file.
- You can choose to:
- Leave Auto #. The assigned number will appear again when you leave this field.
--or --
- Delete Auto # and enter a new number for the transaction.
- Once you complete the entries and selections for the transaction, click the Record button to record the transaction and assign either the auto number or the number you entered as the ID number.
Note: What transaction ID number will be assigned to the next transaction?
