If you receive a message to update an order or create a new order

If you receive a message to update or create an order, you've entered a quantity in the Receive column of an item receipt (the quantity you are receiving) that, together with the quantity in the To Date column, is greater than the quantity in the Ordered column.

You have the following choices:

• Update order: If you choose to update the order, your original order will be updated by the difference between the quantity of the original order and the total received (the quantities in the Receive column plus the quantity in the To Date column).

• New order: If you choose to create a new order, a new order will be created. The new order will contain the item; the quantity for the item will be the difference between the amount of the original order and the total received (the quantities in the Receive column plus the quantity in the To Date column).

• Cancel: If you choose to cancel, you can return to the Receive Item window where you can edit the quantity you entered so that you can record the purchase or you can cancel the transaction.
