Managing Transactions
To create a recurring transaction using Create Copy
If you want to create a new recurring transaction that is very similar, in details and/or schedule to an existing recurring transaction, you can use the following shortcut:
Note: Payroll transactions are different from other recurring transactions. (Using the Recurring Pay window)
- Choose Recurring Transactions in the Lists menu to open the Recurring Transactions List window.
- Highlight the recurring transaction that you want to copy.
- Click the Create Copy button to open the Create Copy (recurring transaction) window.
- If the transaction type is Spend Money, Receive Money, Sales Quote/Order/Sales Invoice or Purchase Quote/Order/Bill, a Card field appears.
Select from the list the card or cards you want to associate with the recurring transaction. You must make a selection for Sales or Purchase transaction types. For Spend or Receive Money transaction types, a card selection is optional.
- The Transaction Name of the recurring transaction you selected in the Recurring Transactions List window is displayed and highlighted in this field.
- If you're copying the recurring transaction to a single card, `Transaction Name' is followed by `copy'.
- If you're copying the recurring transaction to multiple cards, the label [Card Name] appears after the Recurring Transaction Name field. This indicates that for each card selected, `- Card Name' will appear after the Transaction Name.
You can change the transaction name if you like.
- Click the Save button to return to the Recurring Transaction List. The newly created recurring transaction appears in the list.
- If there are any transaction details that you want to change from those of the recurring transaction you copied from, click the Edit button to open the Edit Recurring Transaction Details window. Make your changes and save them.
- If there is any information in the Edit Recurring Schedule window that you want to change from that of the recurring transaction you copied from, click the Edit Schedule button. Make your changes and save them.
