To optimize a company file (File menu)

 

Note: This task requires single-user access. See Single-user file locking for more information.

The company file you'd like to optimize should be open.

  1. From the File menu at the top of your computer screen, choose Optimize Company File. A message will appear, describing the optimization process. Click OK in the message to begin the process of optimizing your company file.


    Note:  Your existing company file will be renamed during optimization
  1. When the optimization process is complete, a message will appear, indicating that your company file has been optimized. Click the OK button to end the optimization process.
