Setup
To reinstall MYOB BusinessBasics
Follow these steps to reinstall BusinessBasics on your computer, or to remove all of the components. If you haven't done so already, turn on your computer.
To start the installation, insert the BusinessBasics CD into your computer's CD drive. The installation window should appear after a few moments. [If it doesn't, you may have disabled your computer's AutoPlay feature. From the Start menu, choose Run. In the Run dialog box enter d:\setup. (Use the appropriate drive name if your CD drive is not d:.) Then click OK.]
When you are ready to begin updating BusinessBasics, click the selection labeled "Install MYOB BusinessBasics v2."
- The Welcome window appears after a few moments. This window will look a bit different from the Welcome window you saw when you originally installed BusinessBasics.
- Choose one of the options in this window:
- Modify allows you to add components or remove certain components that are currently installed.
- Restore allows you to reinstall all the program components you specified during the original install process. You won't have the opportunity to add or remove specific components.
- Remove allows you to remove ALL of the program components you specified during the original installation. Your company files and backup company files won't be deleted if you choose this option.
- Click Next when you've made your selection. If you chose Modify, continue to step 4. If you chose Remove, skip to step 5. If you chose Restore, skip to step 6.
- If you selected Modify in step 2, the Select Components window appears. It will look a bit different from the Select Components window you saw when you originally installed BusinessBasics.
In the Select Components window, you can choose individual BusinessBasics components by clicking the box next to each component you want. Check marks will appear next to the options you selected when you first installed BusinessBasics; mark or unmark the files you wish to add or remove from your hard drive.
When you're finished making your selections, click the Next button. Skip to step 6.
- If you chose Remove in step 2, a message will ask if you are sure you want to remove the selected application and its components. If you still want to remove these files, click OK.
- During the installation process, you'll notice a colored bar in the Install Status window. The bar shows how much of the installation (or deletion) process has occurred so far. While this window is displayed, you don't need to do anything.
- The Maintenance Complete window will appear when the process is finished.
Before you begin using BusinessBasics, you may have to restart your computer. If this is the case, a message in the Maintenance Complete window will give you the option to restart your computer now or wait until later.
If no other applications are running on your computer, mark "Yes, I want to restart my computer now' If other applications are running on your computer, mark "No, I will restart my computer later" instead. You will have to exit the other applications and restart your computer manually.
- Click Finish. That's it! BusinessBasics has been reinstalled (or deleted). Be sure to store your BusinessBasics CD in a safe place.
- If you indicated that your computer should restart, it will restart now.
- If you indicated that you'll restart your computer later, the update installation program will close.
