Interruptions to your computer due to a power failure, a power surge or a user's having mistakenly turned off the computer can damage a company file.
If you experience an interruption, you should use the MYOB FirstEdge Optimization Assistant to optimize your company file as a safeguard. Although the Optimization Assistant is designed to make your company file more efficient, it also is capable of fixing certain types of company file corruption. We recommend that you use the Optimization Assistant regularly to keep your company file operating at its peak.
You can find the MYOB FirstEdge Optimization Assistant in the MYOB FirstEdge folder that was created on your hard disk when you installed FirstEdge.
If you're able to optimize the file without errors, you should then use the MYOB FirstEdge Data Verification Utility to be sure your company file is in its "healthiest" form.
