Red fields and columns must be completed before you advance to the next step

A red border around a field in any form in the Payroll Tax Form Viewer (or a red column header in the W-2 Preparer) indicates that required data is missing or cannot be imported into that field from your company file. You won't be able to advance to the next step in the preparation process until you've entered all missing data and linked all red fields and columns.
