Which columns need to be linked to boxes on the W-2?


First, determine if the data in each column with a red header must be reported on Form W-2. If the data doesn't have to be reported, don't worry about it. Any unlinked column data will not be printed on the official form, and the red columns that remain after you've finished linking columns can be hidden if desired (Edit > Column > Hide).

Occasionally, you may need to link more than one column to the same box. The only box to which you cannot link multiple columns is Box 8, Allocated Tips. (Data fields on Form W-2)

Finally, if the MYOB Payroll Forms program automatically links and/or locks a column, the drop-down menu will not display, and you won't be able to manually link that column to a box.
