About the End of Year Tax Forms Assistant

If you are enrolled in HMRC’s PAYE Online for Employers service, you can use the End of Year Tax Forms Assistant to electronically complete P14, P35 and P60 forms at tax time.

With the Assistant, you can:

■	Prepare and print form P14 for submission to HM Revenue & Customs by post.

■	Prepare and e-file forms P14 and P35.

■	Prepare and print P60 forms for distribution to your employees at tax time.

■	Review and verify the information in your P11 (NIC) and P11 (PAYE) reports.

■	Prepare and print or e-file amended copies of P14 forms.

■	Prepare and e-file test payroll tax form data.

■	Prepare and e-file amended copies of form P35, and print all forms and reports containing data you need on your amended returns.

■	Print copies of all your year-end payroll tax forms and reports for your records.

Note that you need to have enrolled for the PAYE Online for Employers service to e-file P14s and P35s. For more information, see Enrolling in PAYE Online for Employers.

How to use the assistant

The left pane of the assistant shows your progress through the required steps. The step that corresponds to the window where you’re currently working appears in boldface type.

Navigation buttons

Use the buttons at the bottom of each window to move from step to step in the Assistant:

■	Click Next to save your work in the current window and move to the next step.

■	Click Back to discard any work you’ve done in the current window and return to a previous step.

■	Click Close to save all the work you’ve done in the Assistant during the current session and return to the Payroll command centre.

You may require special user access to use some sections of the End of Year Tax Forms Assistant. If your user access is restricted, an alert will appear when you open the assistant or try to access restricted sections of the assistant.
