Preparing 1099 and 1096 forms
Using your software, you can print 1099 vendor statements at the end of a payroll year, and print 1096 forms for transmitting 1099 information to the IRS.

Print Forms 1099 and 1096 before closing the payroll year
You need to print copies of forms 1099 and 1096 before closing the payroll year. Even if you eFile your payroll tax forms, you must retain printed copies for your records.
Once a payroll year is closed, detailed payroll information is no longer available. If you’ve made a backup of your company file, however, you can restore the backup and print the necessary forms.
You can prepare 1099 and 1096 forms:
