Some year-end tasks must be completed before you close a payroll year and begin a new one
You must print W-2 forms, 1099 statements and Forms W-3 and 1096 before you close the current payroll year and begin a new one. You should also make a backup of your AccountEdge company file after printing these statements and before closing the year. Once the year has been closed, detailed payroll information is no longer available and W-2 forms, 1099 statements, Forms W-3 and 1096 and other reports can't be printed for that year. If you've made a backup, however, you can restore that backup and print the necessary documents.
For more information about printing year-end forms, refer to Printing year-end payroll forms. For detailed information about the fields on any of these forms, refer to Lists of fields that can be added to forms.
