Time Billing

To add an activity slip (Include hours in employee's pay)


The Enter Activity Slip window - Single Slip Entry view should be displayed. (Only Single-Slip entries can be added to employee payments.)

Use this procedure only if you plan to include the hours on this activity slip on an employee payment. Also use this procedure if you plan to allocate a job on the activity slip to a wage category. Otherwise, use To add an activity slip - Single Slip Entry.

Warning:  Activity slips are paid IN ADDITION to Recurring Pay

  1. Enter the name of the employee who performed the activity. (Entering cards for an activity)


  2. Review the default date and slip ID; you can change them if necessary.


  3. Enter the name of the customer for whom the work was done.


  4. Select an hourly activity (chargeable or non-chargeable) and enter the number of hours for the activity in the Units field. (Entering the units worked on an activity slip)


  5. If the activity is chargeable, review the default billing rate that appears and change it, if necessary.


  6. If you've entered a chargeable activity, you can also assign a job number; the job number will be allocated to the linked payroll wage category entered in step 9.


  7. Enter any notes you want to include on your time billing invoice. (Entering a job and notes on an activity slip)


  8. Review the calculated billable units and amounts on the right side of the window. Make any needed adjustments. To reduce the billable hours (or hours billed) enter the amount of the reduction as a negative number. The dollar amount will be calculated for you; you can change it if needed.     The Already Billed fields are for your reference only. Any changes you make here won't appear in the Sales journal or in the activity's history.
  1. If it isn't already marked, mark the box, Include Hours in Employee's Pay.


    The Payroll Category field appears when Include Hours in Employee's Pay is marked.
    Select an hourly wages payroll category in the Payroll Category field. (Only hourly wages categories that are linked to the employee will be listed.) If you entered a job number in step 6, the job number will also be assigned to the wage category entered here.
  1. Click Record. (Adding the activity slip to your records)
