Use the Audit Trail Tracking System to keep track of changes made to your company file

If you have multiple users of your company file, it's difficult to always keep track of the time and user when important changes are made. With the new Audit Trail Tracking system, you can learn when a sale amount was changed and who changed it, and similarly if a linked account was switched, an account's number was changed, and so on.

The new Use Audit Trail Tracking preference has been added to the list of security preferences. You can activate or deactivate this tracking system that records and reports changes performed to your company file. It records specific transactional, tax, accounts and system changes.

You or your accountant can print the new Audit Trail Report, where you can view all the changes made to your company file that were recorded by the Audit Trail Tracking system. The report includes when the change was made, who did the change and what was changed; it can be sorted by change type, date or user ID.

Audit trail changes is one of the criteria that the new Company Data Auditor checks for (The Company Data Auditor checks your company file and reports on a variety of criteria), and the Audit Trail Report is one of the reports you can view from the Assistant if there are any changes reported.
