Premier Accounting extracts data from your company file and links many of the data columns and boxes in the W-2 Preparer window automatically. However, your company may have payroll items or categories that require some manual linking. (Remember that more than one column of data can link to the same box on the W-2.)
Note: You can't eFile or print certified copies of any form until you've entered all required information
If you need to link data to any columns in the grid area of the window, the headers of those columns will be red. If a column is not linked to a box, the data it contains cannot be printed or displayed on Form W2/W3. As each column of data is linked to the appropriate box on Form W2/W3, the red column headers will become green.
Note: Some columns are located in the left pane of the W-2 Preparer window
Unlinked columns in the Preparer window usually have a title of <unassigned>. When you've linked a column in the grid to the correct W-2 box, you can change the column title to clearly identify the W-2 box for which data is displayed in that column.
