To add an account

The Accounts List window (To find the Accounts List window)

the Accounts Easy Setup Assistant should be displayed.
If you use MYOB's Multicurrency feature and you're entering a foreign currency account, see To add a foreign currency account.
- Click New to open the Profile view of the Edit Accounts Information window.
- Mark the Header Account or Detail Account option. (Header and Detail accounts)
- Select the Account Type from the drop-down list.
- If you marked Header Account: Select one of the eight choices.
- If you marked Detail Account: Select one of the sixteen selections: five are for the asset classification, five are for the liability classification and each of the other six correspond by name to the other six classifications.

- Enter a number and name for the account. Even if you've chosen to view your accounts by name, you must enter a number. (Account names and numbers)
- Enter the account's opening balance, if you haven't already entered the opening balance using the Easy Setup Assistant. (To enter detail accounts' opening balances)
- Click the Details tab to open the Details view. Enter a description of the account.
- Select the Classification for Statement of Cash flow which will be used for the Statement of Cash Flow reports. (Classification for Statement of Cash Flow)
This selection appears only if a detail account is displayed in this window.
- Click the Banking tab to open the Banking view. Enter information about your company's bank and your company's bank account. (To update your company's bank information) You can also enter information about electronic payments. (Creating electronic payments transactions)
- If you want to set up a budget for a detail account, click the Budgets to open the Budgets view and enter the budget amounts in the window that appears. (To enter budgets for an account)
- Enter historical balances for a detail account; with this information you can compare the current month's account balances with the same month last year. (To enter detail accounts' historical balances)
- Click OK.
