MYOB AccountEdge provides a security system based on user IDs. Each user will make an entry in the User ID field of the Sign-On window when entering AccountEdge. User IDs also keep track of the actions of each person, or user, who performs tasks that affect your company file.
One user ID is created automatically when you create or upgrade your company file: Administrator. The Administrator has access to the entire AccountEdge system; the Administrator is the only user authorized to create other user IDs. The Administrator can assign a user ID to each person who uses the MYOB AccountEdge system.
To maintain your data's integrity, you can assign access rights to each user ID profile so that your sensitive financial records are protected from others. Restricting access to your company file will prevent users from using parts of the company file that they don't need. This will ensure that your confidential information will be seen only by authorized personnel.
The Administrator can control the access of other users to various sections of the AccountEdge system, such as individual command centers. If the Administrator restricts a user ID, users will be able to access only those areas to which they're allowed access.
Whenever a user adds or changes transactions in a company file, that person's user ID will be assigned to the information that was added or changed. This allows you to quickly see who's been changing your company's file.
You may link your user ID to a password, which you can change, if you wish.
