You can use AccountEdge to eFile Forms W-2 and W-3 even if you haven't registered for eFiling. If you choose to eFile your Forms W-2 and W-3, the MYOB Payroll Forms Service will file your federal W-2 and W-3 forms with the IRS, and will mail the employee copies directly to your employees.
Note: You need Internet access to perform this task
If you've registered for both MYOB's eFile service and the MYOB Payroll Forms Service, you can use AccountEdge to electronically transmit all of your state and federal payroll tax forms to the appropriate authorities at tax time. Once you have registered, you will be provided with an MYOB eFile User ID and Password. You will have to enter your registration information before you eFile any payroll tax form.
Notes: You must print Forms W-2 and W-3, and 1099 and 1096, before closing a payroll year
Forms 1099 and 1096 cannot be prepared or filed using the MYOB Payroll Forms Service
eFiling confirmations
You will receive two email confirmations for each payroll tax form that you eFile successfully. The first email you receive will confirm that the form was received on the MYOB Payroll Forms eFile server, and will contain any billing information that applies to your eFile transaction. The second message should confirm that the form you submitted has been processed and sent to the appropriate government agency.
Note: Contact MYOB eFile Support if you don't receive filing confirmations in a timely manner
Even if you plan to eFile your payroll tax forms, you should always make a point of backing up your AccountEdge company file after printing these forms and before closing the year. Once the year is closed, detailed payroll information is no longer available for that year and many forms and reports can't be printed. If you've made a backup, however, you can restore that backup and print the necessary documents.
