The W-2 Preparer Settings window - Control Number view allows you to change the control number specifications that you entered when you set up your W-2s using the Set Up W-2 Forms window. Control numbers aren't required for filing W-2s; this field on the W-2 is provided for your convenience. (Data fields on Form W-2)

The Control Number view is one of three views of the W-2 Preparer Settings window. Each view provides options for modifying the information that you entered when you set up the W-2 forms that are displayed in the W-2 Form Preparer. The other two views of the W-2 Preparer Settings window are:

• Company Information view - provides options for modifying the information about your company that will appear on all W-2 forms and the W-3.

• W3 Information view - provides options for modifying and adding to information that you can use on Form W-3.

Your entries in any view of the W-2 Preparer Settings window appear only on the W-2s and the related W-3 that you are currently working on in the W-2 Form Preparer window. You cannot change any of the information in your MYOB Premier Accounting company file by using this window.
