To customize a form
Reports and forms > Using forms > Customizing forms > To customize a form
- Open the Forms Selection window for the form you want to customize. (Finding forms)
- In the Forms Selection window, choose the form you want to customize. (For example, if you're creating a custom statement, choose either Invoice or Activity from the list at the top of the window.)
- In the Selected Form for... field at the bottom on the window, choose the form that most closely matches the form you plan to create. This will save you time in the following steps.
- Click Customize. The Customize window for the form you selected appears.
- You can add elements, such as lines, rectangles and pictures to a form. (To add elements to a form) You also can activate data fields that currently are inactive. (To activate a data field on a form). In addition, you can change or move existing elements if you like. (To change or move elements on a form)
- You can copy elements that already appear on the form. (To copy elements on a form)
- In some instances, you may want to remove existing elements, or elements you've added. (To remove elements from a form) You also can inactivate data fields. (To inactivate a data field on a form)
- To review the changes you've made, click the Preview button. After you've finished, click OK to return to the Customize window.
- Save your new custom form. Click Save Form if you're creating an entirely new form or are making changes to a custom form you created earlier. (If you chose a custom form in step 2 and you want to keep both that custom form and the new one you've just created, click Save Form As instead.) A dialog box appears; name your form and click OK.
When you print forms using the Forms Selection window you selected in step 2, your new custom form will appear in the Selected Form for... list at the bottom of the window.
