The Earlier Year Update Assistant will guide you through the process of reporting corrections to information submitted to HMRC in previous tax years. The Earlier Year Update, according to the HMRC reporting requirements, allows the employer to correct errors sent in a Full Payment submission for previous payroll years. The adjusted amount, the difference between the amounts submitted in a previous payroll year and the amounts that should have been submitted, is the amount that will be submitted to HMRC.
To access the Earlier Year Update, go to the Command Centres menu and select Payroll. From the drop down menu, select Earlier Year Update.
The Select Employees window appears. This assistant is only available beginning with the 2014/15 payroll year.
